The central idea of of my artwork is to use elements of art and design to focus on emphasis, use of color and line to focus on one main subject.

My statement is demonstrated by use of repetition and the study of form. I explore emphasis by putting a graphic subject in the foreground. I use certain warm toned or cool toned colors to set a certain mood. In the photo with the states and blue cubed background I use repetition to contrast the subject and emphasize it. I use the color blue to set the mood of water. In the picture of the graphite skull in stripes I employ the use of line to focus on the subject. The colors of the warm fire contrasts against the dark blue background. For the picture of the blue faced lady I was inspired by MC Escher to use negative space and change in value.
